The Danger in Getting What You Want
by Pastor Brain Forney
We exist to
Love Each Other
Love Our Community
Our first task is to fall in love with Christ. We don’t teach and preach a simple belief in God. We celebrate a relationship with the living Jesus Christ. A relationship with Jesus is transforming to all of life our marriage, parenting, grand-parenting or work relationships. We believe Jesus makes a difference in our lives.
Our second task is to love each other. Jesus said that the world would know we are His disciples by how we love each other. We have found that many Christians have forgotten this important part of being a Christian. It is important to demonstrate our love for each other in Christ through worship, small group participation, service to others and using the gifts God has given us to be a blessing. Speaking of blessing
Our third task is to love our community. We encourage our community of faith to live as a blessing to others. We find it commonplace to publicly ask, How can I ask God to bless you today? This question calls us to serve those outside the walls of our church and not wait around for them to come inside our walls. This question calls us to minister in His Name to others, regardless of their social, ethnic or cultural status.
If this sounds like something you would like to participate in then we invite you to come be our guest at a service in the very near future. We would love to personally meet you and get to know you by name. We are a dynamic group of people, and it is fun to pastor the community of faith that we know as the Painesville Church of the Nazarene.
Hope to see you soon!
